Better Pool Technicians Start With Better Training
P
I’m Jason Forth, owner of Pool Pro Florida. Sharing real-world pool care experience, practical advice, and lessons from the field.

There's a big difference between cleaning a pool and actually understanding how to care for one.

Anybody can learn to skim leaves, vacuum, and empty baskets. But understanding water chemistry, recognizing problems early, and knowing when not to add chemicals? That takes education.

And that's something I take seriously.

Learning From Rudy Stankowitz

When I earned my Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification, I took the training course through Rudy Stankowitz, a longtime pool industry educator, author, and host of the Talking Pools Podcast.

I believe in learning from people who have spent years working in the industry and sharing that knowledge with others.

That's why we're making Rudy's educational courses a required part of our technician training program at Pool Pro Florida.

More Knowledge. More Opportunity.

We're developing technician levels that reward continued education, certifications, and demonstrated ability.

The idea is simple: The more you learn, the more opportunities you have to earn.

I don't expect a new technician to know everything on day one. We provide hands-on training, educational resources, and opportunities to advance.

But I do expect them to take pride in their work.

A certification alone doesn't make somebody a great technician. Knowing how to apply that education in the field is what matters.

Community Over Competition

I've learned a lot from other people in this industry, and I don't see any reason to keep that knowledge to myself.

That's what I appreciate about Rudy. Through his training programs and the Talking Pools Podcast, he puts his experience out there for other pool professionals to learn from.

Now I want to take that same approach with our own team. Give our technicians the tools to get better, recognize the effort they put in, and give them room to grow.

Nobody knows everything. We can all get better at what we do, and when we share what we know, the whole industry benefits.

Community over competition. That's how I want to build Pool Pro Florida.

A little more coffee. A whole lot of chlorine. ☕

I earned my CPO through Rudy's course, and there's a reason I've chosen his training for our technicians at Pool Pro Florida.

I've always believed there's more to this business than cleaning pools and adding chemicals. You need to understand what you're doing and why you're doing it.

That's the kind of foundation I want our technicians to have. Good training, real experience, and the opportunity to keep growing in this profession.

I appreciate what Rudy does for this industry and the knowledge he's willing to share. That's what it's all about.

Community over competition! -J
