I'm Not Just Cleaning Pools. I'm Building a Business.
Why I switched to Pool Founder, what I've learned along the way, and how technology is helping me build Pool Pro Florida.

When I started Pool Pro Florida, I knew how to take care of swimming pools.
What I didn't fully appreciate was how much time I'd spend figuring out everything that happens outside the pool.
Scheduling. Customers. Billing. Service reports. Keeping track of who needs what, what we did last week, and what's coming up next.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, you're supposed to grow a business.
Here's something I've learned pretty quickly:
Being good at cleaning pools and being good at running a pool company are two different things. You need both.
I Started With Skimmer
Nothing against Skimmer. It worked.
But as I started building Pool Pro Florida, I felt like I was paying a lot for software that didn't quite fit how I wanted to operate. I wanted something more modern. Something I could build around instead of work around.
That's when I found Pool Founder.
Switching has been one of the better decisions I've made getting this company off the ground.
The Little Things Add Up
When you're out servicing pools all day, you don't have time to fight with software.
Customers expect you on their regular day. Water chemistry needs attention. Equipment acts up. And Florida weather has a way of wrecking even the best schedule.
The last thing I want is another headache when I get back to the truck.
Pool Founder brings the important stuff together for me: routes, customers, chemistry, billing, and service reports.
One of the biggest wins has been the digital service reports.
My customers can see what we did, what their water chemistry looked like, and anything I noticed while I was there.
I don't want somebody wondering whether we showed up or what they're paying for.
If we're doing the work, we might as well document it and do it right.
Now I'm Thinking Bigger
At first, I was just looking for a better way to manage my routes.
Now I'm thinking about how the whole business fits together.
I've been building Jo Jo, our AI receptionist, to help customers get answers and schedule appointments. Pool Founder is where I'm organizing the customers, leads, routes, and work that comes next.
And Pool Founder has George, its own AI assistant.
That gets me thinking: what happens when the tools helping you talk to customers and the tools helping you run the business can work together?
A customer reaches out. Jo Jo helps them get started. We schedule a walkthrough. The information makes its way into the system without me typing the same thing three different times.
That's the direction I'm working toward. Some of the connections are already working; others still need work.
I'm not pretending I've got it all figured out. But every time I solve one problem, I see another opportunity to make the business run a little better.
Better together isn't just about two AI assistants. It's about getting the people and tools on the same team.
I'm Not Trying to Build the Biggest Pool Company
I'm trying to build a good one.
One where customers know what to expect. Where technicians take pride in their routes. Where we show up, do the job right, and communicate when something needs attention.
And where the whole operation doesn't depend on me remembering every little detail.
Technology isn't going to vacuum a pool, brush the walls, or figure out why chlorine disappeared after three days of Florida rain.
That's still our job.
But if the right systems take some of the administrative work off my plate, I get more time for the pools, the customers, and building this company the right way.
Still Learning. Still Building.
Pool Pro Florida isn't even a year old yet.
I've made good decisions. I've made a few I'd probably do differently.
Moving to Pool Founder has been one of the good ones.
If you're curious about it, take a look at Pool Founder here. That's my referral link, so I may earn a commission if you sign up through it. I'm sharing it because I actually use the software.
I'm not saying it's the perfect fit for every pool company. I'm saying it's working for me, and I'm finding more ways to use it as we grow.
If you're building a service business, don't just ask what the software costs. Ask whether it fits the way you work, gives you time back, and can grow with you.
I'm still the guy out there cleaning pools. That hasn't changed.
But behind the scenes, I'm building something bigger than a weekly route.
Better systems. Better communication. Better service.
And the best part? I'm just getting started.
