Florida weather can change fast. With plenty of rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, we want to remind our customers how Pool Pro Florida handles service during severe weather.
Rain alone does not necessarily stop our routes. When conditions are safe, we continue servicing pools and take care of everything we can safely complete.
When Lightning or Severe Weather Moves In
If lightning or severe weather is in the area, service stops.
Our technicians will stop working around the pool and take cover until conditions are safe. We do not vacuum, brush, skim, test water, handle pool equipment, or attempt to finish a service during an active lightning threat.
Once conditions clear and it is safe to return to work, we'll continue the route. Florida storms can move through quickly, so a weather delay does not necessarily mean the entire service day is canceled.
If severe weather prevents us from completing the route that day, affected customers will be notified and service will be adjusted accordingly.
Rain Is a Different Story
Rain by itself doesn't always make pool service unsafe. When we're dealing with rain but no active lightning or severe weather threat, we may continue servicing the pool.
Depending on conditions, we'll take care of everything we can safely complete, including:
Testing and balancing the water chemistry
Adding necessary chemicals
Emptying baskets
Checking circulation and pool equipment
Vacuuming, brushing and skimming when conditions safely allow
Addressing any immediate issues
Heavy rain may occasionally limit what can reasonably be accomplished during a visit, but we'll make sure the important things are taken care of.
Why Weather Matters to Your Pool
Heavy Florida rain can dilute pool chemistry, raise the water level, introduce debris and put additional demand on your sanitation system.
That's why maintaining proper chemistry and circulation remains important during extended periods of wet weather — even when Mother Nature makes the normal service schedule a little more challenging.
Safety Comes First
We take our responsibility to care for your pool seriously, but no pool is worth putting a technician at risk.
When lightning is present, we take cover. When conditions are safe, we get back to work.
